Robert Brenneman, PhD

Dr. Robert Brenneman is Professor of Criminal Justice and Sociology at Goshen College. His book Homies and Hermanos: God and Gangs in Central America (Oxford University Press 2012) employed first-hand interviews with 63 former gang members to understand pathways out of the Central American gangs. In addition to hosting Just Stories, he regularly teaches an Inside-Out course at the Elkhart County Correctional Complex.
Regina Shands Stoltzfus

Dr. Regina Shands Stoltzfus is Professor of Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies at Goshen College. Her courses include Personal Violence and Healing, Spiritual Path of the Peacemaker, and Transforming Conflict and Violence. She co-founded the Roots of Justice Anti-Oppression program with Dr. Tobin Miller Shearer. She and Tobin co-authored Been in the Struggle: Pursuing an Anti-Racist Spirituality (Herald Press, 2021). Her most recent book is Resistance, Resilience, and Radical Love: Reflections on Blackness and Teaching Peace (Tehom Center Publishing, 2025).

Yebu has been a bilingual audio journalist and podcast producer since 2019. She is drawn to people who have slipped through the fingers of fate. Through sound, she records the noise and resonance of our time.
Alaina Wolfe
Research Assistant
Alaina is a senior Criminal and Restorative Justice Major at Goshen College, where she is also a member of the Women’s Volleyball team. Her passion for criminal justice stems from youth justice and exploring alternatives to detention for youth.
